This Thursday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m., the Concert by the Lake Series returns to Rockwall with Hunter Sullivan! Hunter Sullivan is a performer based out of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. His ensembles range from jazz trios, original rock groups, and most notably, a 14-piece big band with a ten-piece horn section.

Concerts are brought to you by the Rockwall Parks and Recreation Department, another reason why Rockwall is the Live Music Capital of North Texas. All concerts start at 7:30 p.m. at The Harbor Amphitheater.

It’s that time of year again! The Rockwall’s Farmers’ Market begins in Downtown Rockwall!

The market features locally grown fruits and vegetables, plants, flowers, honey, coffee, and pasta. In addition to the Farmers’ Market, you can enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch at restaurants on The Square, or shop at the local boutiques and shops!

The Farmers’ Market will be open May 5 through September 29, 2012, from 8 AM to noon.

GMC recently unveiled the new 2013 Acadia and Acadia Denali at the Chicago Auto Show, showing off new features such as exterior design and safety (like the industry’s first front center air bag).

Confident Exterior Design
The 2013 Acadia was developed to make a strong impression with a chiseled three-bar grille and a more upright design. LED running lamps lend to the premium look and new taillamp detailing reflects the advancements up front. Other exterior design updates include the wrap-around rear glass and a new rear spoiler.

Industry-Exclusive Safety
The new Acadia will be the first vehicle on the market with GMC’s new front center air bag system, which will protect drivers and front passengers in far-side impact crashes where the affected occupant is on the opposite, non-struck side of the vehicle.

Standard for the Denali are Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems. These systems use radar to watch spots the driver may not be able to see and provide visible and audible warnings to help prevent collisions. Also standard with every Acadia model is six months of OnStar’s Directions and Connections service.

Technology Leader
GMC’s Color Touch Radio is standard in the Acadia. Available IntelliLink allows customers to seamlessly integrate their smartphones for hands-free calling through the audio system and Bluetooth streaming of popular internet radio favorites Pandora and Stitcher.

Other audio system features include HD radio capability, a photo viewer and a standard rear-vision camera with dynamic guide lines that will display in high definition. The most popular options are still available, including the Dual SkyScape sunroof and rear-seat entertainment.

This Saturday, April 21, the Square in old downtown Rockwall will once again be filled with wonderful vendors and delicious food options! The Aspasians Arts and Crafts Show will begin at 9 a.m. in the downtown Rockwall Historic Square at 101 E. Rusk Street.

The majority of profits from the fair will go toward scholarships for high school seniors, with the remaining going to help other organizations and individuals who have a need. There will be vendors for every age, including kids, so bring the whole family!

Put on your best country attire and join in on the fun! Waltz Across Texas is an Annual Charity Ball for the Rockwall Women’s League. This year, the fun will take place on Saturday, March 31 at 7 pm at Black Star Farm.

Dinner, dancing and entertainment are provided by Breckenridge and featured headliner Jolie Holliday. The attire is “Country Chic,” and since there will be a packed dirt floor, high heels are not recommended. All proceeds for the Ball will benefit local Rockwall community charities.
