Rockwall Goes Red ~ Little Red Dress Night benefits the Health Center of Helping Hands. Proceeds from the event will help to fund heart health screening for the underserved in Rockwall County. The event will be held Friday, February 10th from 6pm until 9pm at KE Cellars Winery at The Harbor. Cost is $25 per person and includes admission, one glass of red wine, hors d’oeuvres and “Red”iculous silent auction. Due to limited seating, RSVP with payment is required. You can register here. 55 and Better presents AARP Defensive Driving at The Center– to help provide answers to today’s driving challenges for the older adult.
* How to compensate for changes in hearing, vision and reaction time
* What to do if confronted by an aggressive driver.
* How medications may affect driving.
* How to handle problem situations.
* Eligibility to receive an insurance discount.
Fee AARP Member $14 ($12- discounted resident fee)
Non Member $21 ($18- discounted resident fee)

The Rockwall Community Playhouse is holding auditions for ROCKWALL’S GOT TALENT! If you’re interested in auditioning, make an appointment for your qualification audition– held on January 14 or 15. Registration Fee is $20 per act. Prizes include $1000 for 1st Place, $500 for 2nd Place and $250 for 3rd Place! The 3rd Annual Rib Rub & Run will be held October 15th, 2011 from 9am to 6pm in Downtown Rockwall, Texas. The event will kick-off with 5K and 10K races sponsored by the Rockwall Running Center (registration at onestoprace.com). Don’t miss the BBQ competition sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (registration at mainstreet.rockwall.com). Next, the Poker Stroll, hosted by Rockwall Old Town Shoppes. There will be LIVE music all day and a food and beer garden. Don’t miss out on an amazing day of music, fun and BBQ!

Join the first annual Save the TaTas RockWalk 5k and Fun Run! The event will be held at the Rockwall Running Center with packet pick up available on Friday September 9th from 12 – 5 pm. Registration is $30 for the 5K. The event will be chip timed and managed by the Rockwall Running Center. The 5K will start at 8:30 am and end at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium on Townsend. Parking available at stadium and library. There will be special awards for each age group and race designed swag for all participants. On site registration from 7:15-8am.
