The Rockwall Community Playhouse is holding auditions for ROCKWALL’S GOT TALENT! If you’re interested in auditioning, make an appointment for your qualification audition– held on January 14 or 15. Registration Fee is $20 per act.  Prizes include $1000 for 1st Place, $500 for 2nd Place and $250 for 3rd Place!  For more details and contest rules, contact the Rockwall Community Playhouse Theatre, 609 E. The 3rd Annual Rib Rub & Run will be held October 15th, 2011 from 9am to 6pm in Downtown Rockwall, Texas.  The event will kick-off with 5K and 10K races sponsored by the Rockwall Running Center (registration at onestoprace.com). Don’t miss the BBQ competition sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (registration at mainstreet.rockwall.com). Next, the Poker Stroll, hosted by Rockwall Old Town Shoppes. There will be LIVE music all day and a food and beer garden. Don’t miss out on an amazing day of music, fun and BBQ!

Join the first annual Save the TaTas RockWalk 5k and Fun Run! The event will be held at the Rockwall Running Center with packet pick up available on Friday September 9th from 12 – 5 pm. Registration is $30 for the 5K. The event will be chip timed and managed by the Rockwall Running Center. The 5K will start at 8:30 am and end at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium on Townsend. Parking available at stadium and library. There will be special awards for each age group and race designed swag for all participants. On site registration from 7:15-8am.

Concert by the Lake Series presents Ponty Bone at The Harbor! The free concert starts at 7:30pm on August 18th!  Ponty Bone is an authentic Texas accordion player. He has led his band, The Squeezetones for two decades, drawing inspiration from rock, blues, tex-mex, louisiana cajun, zydeco, country and carribbean music. This will conclude this year’s Concert by the Lake Series, so don’t miss this amazing performance!

The Concert by the Lake Series will present Fastlane on Thursday, August 11th, 7:30pm at The Harbor. The Fastlane band is the southwest’s premier tribute to the Eagles. Fastlane features the musical talents of Todd Guinn (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Steve Locke (bass, vocals), James Davis-Hammond (piano, accordion), Nathan Allumbaugh (guitar, vocals), Gary White (guitar, vocals) and Jimmy Siddens (drums, percussion).  This concert is is free and open to the public!
